July Meeting

Tonight was Members night - so very short on business.  Sherry on arrival - very civilised!    Kath still had outings lists on show tho' and there was a sales table, and raffle.   Doreen updated us on Parish Council comments re:  'our tree'.   Suggestions for small trees included an apple tree  (available to 'scrump' or if it was a cooker - Annette could make apple pies - this brought a chuckle) - several comments were forthcoming and other ideas were put in the Suggestion Box - matter referred to the committee.

The speaker planned cancelled the Friday before the meeting BUT we  luckily had a talk by a local Magistrate and learnt a lot more about the 'justice process'.    For starters I didn't realise or probably even think about it -  magistrates can claim for petrol but work as volunteers - well - cheers to our amazing Legal System - it just  makes you realise you how lucky we are in this country.   We were able to look at some actual cases and 'think how we would deal with them' and then learn what was the actual result - fascinating.

Hurrah then we were able to enjoy a delicious supper, wine, fruit juice or usual tea/coffee.   There was plenty of  'chatter' time - a really enjoyable meeting - thanks to 'members'.
