Several members attended the Annual Carol Festival in Wells. It was a lovely crisp, sunny day. Interesting carols chosen and several very unusual but very apt readings but the stars of the day (apart, of course, from the Cathedral itself) was the choir. What an improvement. They were very excited about it themselves and their happiness permeated the cathedral as we left. A really lovely start to the Christmas scene for many. I had been very fortunate as it was the 5th Carol Service I had been to and they have all been different and had their own charm. Two in Wells Cathedral, and 3 others in Wincanton, Martock and Glastonbury. After Christmas I have the pleasure of an epiphany service to attend at Mark.
Saw many WI ladies in Wells and I understand some of them had 'spent a fortune' - good news for the city of Wells.
