November Meeting

Well somehow or other we managed the election, speaker, report from Taunton AGM, 2 poems and a few risky jokes. Sue is President again for another year - our 75th birthday - so all pleased. The suggestion of supporting a charity (money to be collected by one member as an individual) instead of Christmas cards - well received. 28 members present 21 voted 19 for, 1 for both and 1 against supporting the charity. Have learnt that we have already got sufficient money to support 4 childrens meals for the My Weekly Helping Hand Appeal. Our speaker was very interesting telling us about Dolls Houses and furnishings - a fascinating hobby. Ruth, our resident poet had written 2 poems. One about Ston Easton Park and one which was a Tribute to the WI. They were both excellent.
