March WI Meeting

Interesting talk re: Somerset Food Direct including how they all started from Rio de Janeiro via action re: peaches in California. Quite fascinating really - all got leaflets. Jo nearly exploded to defend the Post Office after he left - understandably, as we are lucky to have a village shop.
After refreshments votes were taken on the Xmas Lunch (hot meal won) the August outing (Cothay Manor won). Ruth's poem on the interpreter of Japanese and lunch at The Shrubbery, Ilminster was, as always, very good. Seemed to buy a lot of things on the stall - Beryl looked a bit fed up about lack of support - so bought a bit more - did I really need the biscuits, cake, books, picture frame - NO - but it did clear a few things from the stall and used up my change!!!
