Our main speaker for the evening was Chris Sperring MBE. He brought his owl Beau which was very well behaved!! Nobody could stroke it - we learnt that owls feathers are not waterproof and we would damage them if we touched them - but it was so lovely it was tempting!!! Chris has a blog - http://chrissperring.blogspot.com/ - lovely pictures - well worth a visit. There are several websites about him as he is a fairly regular TV 'nature person'.
After, delicious refreshments Helen Wall from Wells told us about a hundred mile walk she did in Holland - she had us in stitches. An excellent evening - thanks to A&O WI.
Binegar came 4th in the local skittle competition - whoops - but they had lots of fun evenings!!!Chewton Mendip won AGAIN!!! Evercreech and Pilton joined the group but Pilton were unfortunately not able to complete the required no. of matches (if they had - would we have been 5th ..... oh dear!!!)
